GET A DRIP LAUNCHES VITAMIN D BLOOD TESTS, RECEIVES CQC REGISTRATION.

Get A Drip, the leading provider of Intravenous (IV) Nutrition Therapy, has added to its range of innovative services by offering blood tests for Vitamin D levels. The test kit measures Vitamin D levels in the blood, displaying accurate results on the spot.

Vitamin D is a hot topic in 2020, with a link being found between low Vitamin D levels and Coronavirus. Vitamin D is crucial for the immune system and therefore is thought to help in the fight against cold and flu viruses [1].

The only way of knowing if you are deficient in Vitamin D is to have a blood test. The Get A Drip blood test, costing just £35, will show the exact level of Vitamin D in the blood and advise how much is needed to reach an optimum level. Get A Drip can then provide Vitamin D injections, if needed, to correct any deficiencies.

The Government advises people living in the UK to take a Vitamin D supplement throughout the winter months, when we are unable to make our own Vitamin D from sunlight. This official advice was recently extended throughout summer 2020 due to lockdown meaning that people are spending much more time than usual indoors. People with darker skins are also more likely to have a Vitamin D deficiency [2].

One in five people in the UK are deficient in Vitamin D, and correcting deficiencies could save the NHS millions of pounds. [3, 4]

The introduction of the blood test follows a successful CQC registration. CQC is the independent regulatory body for healthcare in the UK, ensuring the highest levels of service from clinics.

Richard Chambers, founder of Get A Drip, said: “I’m thrilled to receive CQC registration. This marks another milestone in Get A Drip’s journey as the leading IV clinic in the UK. The introduction of blood testing for Vitamin D levels now means that our customers can accurately find out their levels and then we can create a personalised treatment plan to help them achieve optimum nutrition. This service, alongside our DNA testing, means that people can take control of their own health like never before.”

Vitamin D testing is a painless finger prick blood test which gives results in 15 minutes and costs just £35. The tests are performed by Get A Drip medical staff in the clinics. A personalised plan is then presented to the customer. Vitamin D injections at Get A Drip cost £40 and last for a month.
