Hales Care Group Announce Winners in Biggest Ever Hales Heroes Draw

Thirty Carers from Branches Across the Country Have Been Awarded £600 Each

Back in December regional care group Hales Homecare, who have care branches up and down the country, announced they’d be awarding £600 to thirty of their carers through their Hales Heroes reward scheme.

The Hales Heroes awards were introduced to reward care staff for their exceptional work, as well as
those that have gone above and beyond the call of duty for their colleagues and service users.

Thirty carers have recently been announced as the winners of the biggest Hales Heroes draw to take place yet.

Mary Appleton, one of the winners from the Wakefield branch had this to say, “It’s been a very tough year with everything going on, but I’m happy to have helped make a lot of people smile and feel better. That’s all I strive for every day. I’m very grateful (for the award).”

Rebecca McPartland, winner of the award from the Doncaster branch, when asked what her favourite part of being a care worker is, said “seeing service users happy and content. Their smiles make my day.”
Katy Spencer, another lucky winner was very touched upon receiving her award, “I was quite emotional when I found out, I’ve never won anything before.”

“There’s no such thing as a typical day in care, it is different every day and that’s what I love about the job.”

Carla Spreadbridge, Care Coordinator in the Ipswich branch had nothing but glowing reviews for another winner Deborah Bridges, “We spoke to Deborah today when she came in for her presentation and asked her what she loved about working as a care worker and she said, ‘I love building good relationships with service users and carers.’”

When Sheffield winner Leila Plant was asked what she would be spending the money on, she replied, “I’ll be treating myself to a cheeky Nando’s.”

Commenting on the 2021 awards Nicola Mewse, Hales Homecare Managing Director said, “It has been an incredibly challenging period in social care history, and we wanted to provide a platform for recognising and rewarding as many of our loyal staff as possible in our most recent draw.”

“Every individual awarded a place in the prize draw had to meet the threshold for entry which in itself is recognition of their outstanding achievements.” Nicola continues.

“Each and every one of our Hales Homecare team have demonstrated their commitment and responsibility to providing valuable support to the communities in which we operate, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their service.”
