IN RESPONSE TO the effects of COVID-19, a free emergency NHS recruitment film, designed to be personalised and adapted for use by any NHS Trust in the United Kingdom, has been created by content creation agency Inspired Films, with numerous Trusts having already requested the film since it was made available at the end of April.
The film has been produced to aid the NHS in the biggest challenge it has faced in its history to date – a struggle to maintain the necessary frontline staffing levels required to effectively manage the Coronavirus pandemic.
It is currently being utilised by nearly a dozen NHS Trusts, covering 72 hospitals across the country, who between them collectively serve over 17 million people, or a quarter of the UK population.
Designed to be fully adaptable, each NHS Trust has been offered their own unique version of the broadcast-quality film, which includes a personalised voiceover, bespoke branding, specialised content, and a targeted call to action.
Creative Director of Inspired Films, Louis Paltnoi said when COVID-19 struck, as a company and as a team, Inspired Films wanted to do something to help, not just their existing hospital clients but the NHS as a whole.
“Inspired Films has serviced a number of NHS Trusts as clients for years, and has therefore seen first-hand, the vital work carried out by NHS staff on a daily basis,” he said. “They are quite literally heroes.”
“When speaking to Trusts in the wake of COVID-19, it was clear that immediate frontline recruitment was critical, in order to keep hospitals’ vital services running smoothly.
“By developing and delivering a free, bespoke emergency recruitment film for whichever Trust needs it, Inspired Films is delighted to be able to offer its assistance to the NHS during this difficult time.”
Assistant Director of HR at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, Michael Ellis said the free recruitment film provided to them by Inspired Films has been a crucial asset in supporting the recruitment of staff during the pandemic.
“As a large Trust operating across three hospitals and community services, covering a population of 900,000 people, maintaining front-line staffing levels over the last few months has been a huge challenge for us, particularly as a result of the additional pressures the COVID-19 pandemic has placed on our staff and services,” he said.
“We are extremely grateful to Inspired Films for providing their free emergency recruitment film to us, and adapting it for our own use. We have used it across our website, social media, and in our new rebranded careers microsite. It has proven to be an invaluable recruitment tool, supporting us to receive over 250 new Healthcare Assistant applications since we launched the film.”

The film features previously shot footage from Inspired Films’ extensive work with its existing NHS Trust clients, including Barts Health, Guys and St Thomas, North Middlesex, and Surrey and Sussex Healthcare.
